Great to know some of you Guy's are interested.

Have arranged a meet with the Film Crew , sometime next week,..... just to discuss possible locations, and realistic shoot times. I 'll post up the results of the meet, with a suggested , approximate date for filming,.... I suspect then we can start thinking of some scenario's / storyline.

Getting free crew and equipment is great. The most important thing you need to have though is a good producer/director - basically someone to captain the ship on the day of the shoot.
Without someone in charge the whole thing will take three times as long and everyone will get the hump. I know this because it's what I do for a living.
You also need to be completely clear on what you want to end up with as a finished article. I have seen a few videos similar to this one and my only criticism is that they maybe take themselves a bit too seriously. Personally I would like to see something which showed an airsoft WWII airsoft event for what is really is and tries to dispel some of the ideas that we are all closet nazis or Michael Ryan types. I actually think that would make quite a good "real" TV programme.

Points noted.....

The crew will basically run the shoot. The pre shoot prep, they have expressed is crucial, to a productive days filming. They are happy to gather all our input,..suggestions of scenario,.... location.... props..... etc. and then produce the storyboard , the shoot schedule ,... for our perusal and approval , before we book a day for shooting.

They will of course run/ direct the days proceedings to ensure the time allocated is used correctly.

They have also expressed, they do not want to turn up,... and just film us lot running about..... They are keen to organise and manage this project correctly.

At this stage I am more than happy to go with this,...... but I think it will be fair to say,... we only need volunteers who want to be involved in a film,..... so no, there will be no running about, having unorganised fun,...this shoot will be hard work , but well worth it.

I think we've all got a clear understanding of what's required from Nelz' last post. How many volunteers do you think you'll need Nelz? I'm sure you'll we'll be able to put a complete Waffen SS section together for you for this, myself, Frontschwein, Micheal Brown and Quag are all interested for a start, so we're almost half way there already. Dave Barrat and his recce boys would give us the rest and we haven't even put out proper feelers yet.

I think what we probably need to do at this stage,... is start bouncing some ideas between us,.... a story ,... or a particular event,... similar to the film example that Stubblehopper posted up from Youtube,... no complicated story,... just simple,.... but with plenty of atmosphere,... well shot , thoughtful camera angles etc.

I an no Spielberg,... but I think we are all creative people on here,... and if we are sensible,.. when pooling our ideas and resources,... we should be able to do this justice.

When we have the scenario/ story sorted,... we will then know exactly how many people we will need to field,.... and the type of location/s. we will need to identify.

I also think it would make sense ,to allocate particular duties out to individuals , .. who may possess particular skills that would benefit the project.,.... and tap more creativity/ involvement.

If you are not in the Film itself,... you may have other skills we can utilise ?

The project needs to gather momentum,.. but at a steady pace,... we don't want to rush,..and through inexperience of the filming process..... muck up a good opportunity.

Helga ! .. to answer your question, ..possibly only a couple of Tiger-1 will be involved in the trailer,... and probably as supportive roles,.. behind the camera.

So get your creative minds into gear folks,..... but remember ,... keep it simple ,.. preferably with none ,...or very little speaking parts........

For this Project,..... we can field 2 motorcycle combo's if required... Blank firing K98's.. Mp40's ,.. 2 gas powered, very loud, Mg42's........80mm pyro mortar,..... and various other bits n bats.... So bear these in mind when suggesting ideas.

Right get scratching your heads !!

 I wanted to know if its anyone unfortunate enough to know me

Your story and scenario are going to have to be intrinsicly linked (don't want to be called a bunch of farbs now huh ;) )

So when you think of scenarios you will have to equally think of whether those you have volunteering for your film collaboration's kit. Obviously if you have primarily ss, then you will need to think of a primarily ss scenario, or it would a) look silly and b) be picked to pieces. I'm sure neither of which you would want. Also will need to ensure the kit people have is correct for the period of time.

Don't think I can be of any use being a gurl and erm looking like one  though I could lend kit if necs, albeit it a gas mask canister or whatever  on a break it I break you agreement

Will watch how this progresses, and will await with interest the end outcome :D

I think it would be nice to be an SS themed Film,... although any forum.. ,present skirmishers ,..can be involved,... I have enough kit,.. to field a full Kampgruppe,... but between us we should have plenty of SS kit. We could have a little mixture I guess,..Heer, Fg's.......

Helga ! Only a suggestion,... but maybe you could manage the makeup,.. kit continuity etc on the shoot ! Monitor the finer details from shot to shot,... a critical eye,.. keep the quality up..... Us guys will probably be too gathered up in looking mean an German,.. and over look the detail...... You never know,.. the final story may require a Helferin roll !! :D

The Tiger lads will be checking kit accuracy,... but more active in weapon and prop management for health and safety reasons.

Wow what a blast! That was fantastic, can't believe they did all that with the scant resources, plus the Franky track makes it for me!

Yes, excellent - just shows what thorough pre-planning and hard graft can achieve.

Now, I'm slightly confused - Hammond was at the start of the sequence. So, it was these guy's work we saw in the Omaha docu, not clips from SPR as I assumed?

Yes it was their work in the hamsters program not pikied SPR clips, they just made it look similar.

That's amazing! It proves that with good planning, editing and a fair bit of creativity, anything is possible, even with limited personnel.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

...Just to wet your appetites,... ... the planning stage has commenced..... the short film project is going to happen. :D
To make this test trailer,.. I have put together a scenario which I feel will capture everything in it's correct proportions,
to include...... Very little speech,....A skirmish/firefight....pyros....tense build up..... surprise elements.... emotive ending... clever editing... digital effects..... original music.... cool graphics..... 2 main characters,....... and remaining required extras. Remember this is a Test Trailer,.... but I am confident a good production can be done.
All you guys will need to do is turn up, look German and be directed. I will weapon train the appropriate individuals, for blank / gas firing duties.......All those taking part will receive all the details well before the shoot date,... including copies of the basic storyboard.

Shoot dates are looking to be around possibly end of March, early April.
I think going ahead with the scenario presented to the film crew, this weekend, will make things simple,... instead of trying to organise a story via the Forum. As mentioned, this project is a test trailer for Tiger-1,... you are welcome to be a part of it,.... and have a copy of the finished film, for free, as a token of my appreciation .Those travelling to the location will be fed and watered, and if required put up for a night at my expense. If we go to the Pub, you buy yer own beers..!

Here is a DVD Cover design sample,.... which, if you are in the film, will include your name on the back cover design.

.....I will post up more details if you Guys are still interested.

Cheers.

nelz.

Seems to be shaping up Nelz, we'll ask for volunteers on the KG SS page shortly, I think you'll get a whole section of SS for this at least, we'll do a bit a photoshoot as well and take the oportunity to get some shots next to the Tiger tank, half track and other vehicles that airsofters never get the chance to play with.
